Permanent Courses
These are fixed orienteering courses available throughout the country often using wooden posts as control markers. The courses are usually designed for beginners but often include more difficult options for improving or experienced orienteers. They are a great way to improve your navigation skills and experience orienteering without needing to attend an event. Or perhaps for you to simply make a walk more interesting.
HAVOC, in association with local authorities responsible for country parks in our area, have helped establish a number of permanent orienteering courses. These are shown on the map and listed below. The number on the map corresponds to the reference in the table.
