Terrain Description

Thorndon Park is an area of established mixed woodland with some open and semi-open areas and a good path network.

The map is A4-sized at 1:10000.  Single purple X's on the map indicate gates that are locked. It is recommended to use an alternative crossing point nearby. Many of the fences are for controlling stock grazing and have two or three strands of barbed wire on top and will be difficult to cross except by the most agile competitors.

A black O on the map indicates a sculpture or a small fenced enclosure.

White and Yellow courses have written descriptions, Orange has both written and pictorial descriptions. All other courses have pictorial descriptions.
