Info

As well as a stand alone local event, this will also form the HAVOC round of the GLOSS (Greater London Orienteering Summer Series)

GLOSS is a series of races run by the clubs in and around London. There are two courses: the GLOSS course which is around 3½ km (with optional extension to around 5½ km) and is of moderate navigational difficulty and a 'Yellow' course which is about 2km with easier navigation. Navigate between control points - you decide the best route in order to complete the course in the quickest time. Beginners and non-club members welcome.

Competitors from all clubs welcome, whether in GLOSS or not.

Note: BOF insurance rules changed on 1st Jan 2026, so non members will no longer be covered by BOF public liability insurance.  Details here.

Note: Photography and image taking is covered by the BOF policy.

Terrain Description

Formed of ancient deciduous woodland, parkland, meadows and streams of the former Dagnam estate deer park.  It offers fast courses through runnable terrain where maintaining map contact at speed will be a challenge.  The ancient woods have many earth and water features and are heavily grazed by wild fallow deer so undergrowth is minimal.

Despite the lack of undergrowth, full arm and leg cover is recommended, due to the large number of wild deer in the park.
