Planner's comments

Thank you all for attending this event; a good turnout. I hope the two competitors injured in falls during their runs are recovering well.

A few competitors did not realise they needed to punch at the finish control. Please remember when using electronic punching that you should always punch at the control indicated as the finish, the two concentric circles. Even if you are retiring, it helps the download team to have the finish recorded on your dibber. The event details did state that two finishes were being used for the event.

The results show most of the course lengths were right. The Light Green was probably a bit long. The "greening" of the area and extensive path network made planning the courses rather difficult. I did attempt to reduce the amount of "green" on the technical courses; you should have seen the control sites I rejected! Usually there was a choice of taking a longer route along the paths instead of a direct route in the "green".

My thanks go to Martin Sellens for his very constructive comments on the courses and to my brother, Tony for looking after the computing and organising the equipment. Also to everyone who helped set out and collect controls and of course, Barbara and her team of HAVOC helpers.

Note from SI team

Light Green and Green courses .

Control unit 130 failed before the first competitor ran and was replaced by one numbered 160 - you will only notice this on the splits . It has no effect on results.
