Mapper/Planner Comments
We were blessed with some fine weather and I believe all those who came along
appreciated the opportunity for some orienteering around the streets of Warley
instead of in the woods or forest. Even so, one or two people did manage to find
a little mud on some of the woodland paths that were on offer as a route choice.
I decided to use a variety of different types of street "furniture" as control
sites in order to provide a few route choices. Some competitors who are
unfamiliar with the street-o format, did not fully understand what was required
to answer the clues and I apologise if I did not explain things well enough.
The map does require some more updating and I thank those people who offered
their constructive feedback.
Thank you all for parking in the overflow car park. The local council
representative I contacted to get permission to start the event in the park was
happy for the event to go ahead but did not want us to use the small car park in
case we filled it up. But, he said we could use the overflow area. Thanks to
Paul and Barbara for arranging to get that bit of the car park opened before you
all arrived and for signing the event and doing the registration.
