Terrain Description

Open Orienteering style Map 1:10,000 scale for Long and 7,500 scale for Short.

The courses are on pavements, and on public footpaths through fields and The Mores ancient woodland.  Full leg cover is recommended due to undergrowth in the woods.

Registration & Start Times

Start at times between 6.15pm and 7.15pm.  Competitors must report to the finish by 8.30pm.

Course Information

Both the Short and Long courses are Score courses – the score format is to give you more route choice.  There are no time limits.  Most competitors will be able to visit all controls.  Long course competitors may need to choose which controls not to visit unless they are fast enough to attempt them all.  Short course 13 controls about 4.6km; Long course 20 controls about 8.3km (direct line; actual route will be at least 10% longer).  Fastest finisher will win, though a missed or wrong control incurs a 5-minute time penalty.
