From M25 Junction 29:  Head east along the A127 towards Southend for 6 miles. Take the slip-road at the Dunton interchange and turn right onto the B148 (West Mayne). Turn right at the first roundabout (with the clock) onto the B1036, signed Superstore (Tesco) then left at the next roundabout. Continue for about 1 mile then turn right at the roundabout, signed Langdon Hills then right again at the next roundabout. After passing through Langdon Hills village, turn right at the T junction onto the B1007 (Staneway). Pass the Miller and Carter restaurant and in 250m turn left onto Dry Street then right into the car park

Free car parking (included in entry fee)

NB. Approaching by car from the east along Dry Street is not recommended. 

Nearest railway station is Laindon, on the London Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness line, about 1 mile from the car park.

Facilities

Portable toilet will be provided in the car park.

Terrain Description


The terrain is a patchwork of mature woodland, open and semi-open areas, along a ridge of hills overlooking the Thames estuary.  The  longer courses will include rural tracks between the main areas of woodland, and will involve significant climb (for Essex).

Map 1:10,000 using ISOM 2017, resurveyed by Tom Edelsten autumn 2017 with 2019, 2022 & 2023 updates.

Enquiries: 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. 
Starts: 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
Courses close: 2:30 pm
Start and finish are close to the car park field.

White, Yellow, Orange, Light Green, Short Green, Green, Blue and Brown.
A course suitable for all abilities. Help available for beginners.

Blue 7.7km 195m 23 controls
Green 5.5km 140m 14 controls
Short Green 3.3km 80m 14 controls
Light Green 3.8km 100m 16 controls
Orange 2.1km 55m 11 controls
Yellow 1.8km 45m 14 controls
White 1.3km 40m 13 controls

White & Yellow have written descriptions. All other courses have pictorial descriptions. Loose descriptions will be available at the Start.

SIAC will be enabled.  However, all Competitors will need to punch the Check, Start and Finish controls.

NOTE:  

Courses Light Green to Brown have some road crossings. 

Courses Light Green, Short Green and Green have a marshalled road crossing across a local road (Dry Street) which will be timed-out.

Courses Green, Blue and Brown have an additional crossing, and a short run along Dry Street.  Courses Blue and Brown also have two additional road crossings across the B1007 (High Road) which will be timed-out but not marshalled.   

Therefore under-16s should not enter the Green, Blue or Brown courses.

For entries post January 14 - Seniors £11 ( £13 for non- BOF members), Juniors £4,
SI dibber hire (non SIAC) £1.    

Entries close on Friday, January 19.

There are limited EOD entries available at the event download tent, subject to map availability.
